i tried doing my own nails and the arcyl got on the back of the nail. so it ist really thick. How do you take of thick fake nails?
They have to be melted off with acetone. It takes a long time and you have to work it with an orange wood stick. It is best to go to a professional. A professional might have an ultrasonic soaker that will minimize the time you have to be exposed to the acetone. Or they might have these little finger caps that soak your fingertips only.
Be careful, however. Some salons do not practice safe removal and I have heard of people having had the acrylics ripped from the nail at places like this. One woman had part of her natural nail ripped off the nail bed like this. In the center. So go to a place that is not into cheap shortcuts. How do you take of thick fake nails?
You have to soak them in acetone. When they start to get soft your can lift them off. Be careful not to pull your real nail off with it.
I usually bite mine off too
well, if you must do it at home the best thing to do is acetone. the bet is just cosmetic acetone, and not just acetone nail polish remover.
honestly, your best bet would be too go to the nail salon and have them remove it. they can get them off the best w/o destroying as much of your nails.
i mean, your nails underneat are going to be damaged, but it will be a little less than if you do it at home and tear and rip and melt and stuff.
acetone polish remover
If you want to take them completely off, soak them in acetone (about $1 a bottle from Wal-mart) and slowly and carefully peel them off. Don't rip them off, it could destroy your nail. If you just want the acrylic off the back of the nail, take a cotton swab with acetone on it and let it soak on just the back for a few minutes and scrape it off with a toothpick.
go to the shop and let them take them off i had the nails on they it hurt if you take them off our self
NO. Trust me, go to the salon and pay the $10 and have them soak them off. You will completely screw up your natural nails if you don't.
I'm female and I have them and I ripped of nails trying to soak them off myself.

you can use nail polish remover like everyone else said to do. it works. just keep in mind that your real nails are going to look terrible until they completely grow out. be careful, too, when removing the fake nails - you can accidentally tear your own nail if you try too hard getting them off.
r u saying ';take off fake nails';???????? go to the shop otherwise you'll hurt yourself
dont pull them off it will make your real nails brittle just slowly take nail cutters and cut them paint your nails until your nails grow them off it will take about two weeks but you have to get used to having very short nails
Go to the dentist. and you might want an x-ray.

they actually sell a specific solution at drugstores that can remove them easily and effectively -- check in the Nailpolish remover section.
Just make sure you know what the fake part is made of before you purchase the solvent -- example: acrylic -- and make sure the label on the solvent bottle describes that it removes that particular fake nail type.
cut the ends off with clippers, if they are too thick for clippers, use scissors. soak them in acetone polish remover. don't pull them off, that will damage the nail.
