Go to the pet store and buy a pair of dog nail clippers. Human ones were not made or designed for dog nails. If you don't want to do that, spend the money and take her to the vet and get them to do it for you.

Any hints for trimming a dogs nails?
My dog hates having her nails clipped. I usually end up scratched before I am done. Does anyone have any suggestions for making this easier?
I have tried treats and toys, but nothing works. I even tried a groomer, but they made things worse by clipping a couple of her nails too short.Any hints for trimming a dogs nails?

We did this every night after dinner. Pretty soon she was looking for her peanut butter treat (and nail clip) every night.
As Ginbail said .. a dremel works for many dogs (or a Pedipaws which will break down faster than a dremel). But I would do a bit at a time while rewarding the dog. Every evening, get the nail clippers out, and some treats, and call your dog over. Play with her feet, and reward her. Eventually, when she starts associating the clippers with treats, start clipping her nails - a little at a time. Keep this up.
And it's better to clip a dog's nails a little bit, regularly, then to wait weeks, and then clip a lot off. So clip weekly or so, depending on how fast they grow and naturally wear down.

But what I do with my Siberian Husky is flip him over on his back and cut his nails and scratch his tummy at the same time, not only is this a good position, because he loves it when he scratch his stomach but also because his nails are black its easier to see the quick if his paws are upside down.

I never thought it really did anything, btu someone on here said that you shouldn't do it very often because it danages your nails. Is that true? Should I stop painting my nails so often?

I find that placing the hand that I'm painting on a flat surface to keep my hand steady. As I'm right handed, it's always easier for me to paint my left hand. Also, start in the middle of the nail with the first stroke.
It just takes lots of practise, keep going at it. Or get someone else to paint them for you! xx

Me too! I don't know about JA but Trent still sounds good. I saw them last year and it was amazing. I can't wait to see the whole line-up. I used to do that for years. Now I put about 4 coats of nail polish on. It makes your nails stronger, and pretty. But if you can't get over putting your fingers in your mouth, just try to scrape the polish off instead of biting.

I used to do that for years. Now I put about 4 coats of nail polish on. It makes your nails stronger, and pretty. But if you can't get over putting your fingers in your mouth, just try to scrape the polish off instead of biting.

I do nails profesionally and trust me you must see a profesional.You will not do a good job yourself....its better to have ok natural nails than tacky artificial ones so if you cant afford it or you dont want to pay,just give yourself a good manicure!How do you do fake nails?

there is a solution in the pharmacies you can buy to put it on your nails it has a bitter taste it makes you hate to get your nails anywhere around your mouth!!
and think positively that when you stop biting your nails how lovely they will look and how pretty you are in french manicure !! this will help you too..

Took me years to stop but now mine are long. It sounds weird but get a professional manicure. For the first month your nails will still look crappy. You'll have to have some will power and it will be hard. Let the manicurist now what your goal is and wear light polish. In the beginning I'd pick the polish instead of biting. Once the start growing and looking better it's easier not to bite them because they prettier. If cost is an issue only get a professional manicure every couple times but fun stuff for yourself. I just recently stopped biting for 3 months now and have even lost the ';urge'; I sound like I'm in AA for nailbiters! Try QTICA check online and OPI makes good nail strengthener. Any acylics will weaken the nail bed underneath and most of us biters have already damaged our nails enough. Good luck
I tried and tried but the only thing that really helped was to SIT ON MY HANDS, it's hard to do but you might get at least some nails to grow. Always remember that they will grow and don't beat yourself up when you slip. Keep them OUT of your mouth and don't replace it with eating. I ate a lot of salted sunflower seeds as a kid and I suppose that's why high blood pressure is reigning now. Mostly it seems to be a nervous reaction to something that your frustrated with. Hang in there, RELAX and enjoy life.

A few years ago my friend had some sort of garlic liquid that she would be on the tips of her nails to make them grow longer. I put some on mine one day and then bit them later and it was so disgusting. Maybe that would work.
you should understand , bitting nails is bad habit. first, it is not hygenic, when you bite, germs will passed to your fingers and ur fingers will start smelling bad. imagine and understand this, then u will stop it, i hope. cheers sophia jeyakumar
you rub chilli into the tips of your finger so when you bit then it will be hot. but just done rub your eyes coz it will sting
or rub the taste of a food you dont like into the tips of your naiils

Does Reznor sound as good as ever, or is his voice getting rusty? I read really good reviews about the NIN/JA tour and mediocre reviews. I just want to know if they sound as good live as they do in the studio.

Me too! I don't know about JA but Trent still sounds good. I saw them last year and it was amazing. I can't wait to see the whole line-up. Will be the first time seeing Tom Morello play live with Street Sweeper. If I can't see Rage, then I guess it will have to be the next best thing. Should be a show you won't forget.
i saw NIN last september. i have no regrets. that show was amazing, trent has all the power and enthusiasm as ever. but with a much better light show.

I've seen nin many times. Trent has improved his singing immensely, especially since quitting heroin. Also, Trent has pretty much the highest quality sound equipment that he possibly could these days, seeing as he is pretty rich.

YOU NEED TO KEEP YOU FINGERS OUT OF YOUR MOUTH...I've know people who have had infections, because of this....try putting 2 drops of hot sauce in your nail polish...

add tobasco sauce to your nail polish, paint your nails, %26amp; you shouldn't like the taste when you bite them.
Cut your nails.
Try putting chicken sh**it on them.That usually works!
I used to do that for years. Now I put about 4 coats of nail polish on. It makes your nails stronger, and pretty. But if you can't get over putting your fingers in your mouth, just try to scrape the polish off instead of biting.
Put salt on them,just as you do with babies.:)))
I sued to bite mine a lot and do other things like crank my knuckles and fidget with stuff.
I just tried to do stuff that was better and to stay cool. I know its not a good answer but you got to develop a willingness to stop those bad habits whatever they may be.
