Is it bad to have long real nails?

My dad commented tonight on how long my nails were getting. Then my sister asked to see and said ew.

it looks like i have a french manicure, only it's not really painted.Is it bad to have long real nails?
As long as you you take good care of them. i.e, you need to regularly shape them with a file, round out the edges, and clean them with a brush to make sure there's no dirt in them. Also, pushing back your cuticles will be good, and it's also good to use a clear polish and/or nail strengthener to make them shiny and keep them from breaking. If one of your nail breaks off and is really short while the others are long, you'll have to trim the others to match.Is it bad to have long real nails?
no way long nails are the best my nails are 2 inches long and they are pointed and are very sharp and if my dad or anyone payed me out cause of my nails i would just say your just gealous cause my nails are long and sexy and that you cant grow long nails and if they kept paying me out i would say to them do you want me to scratch you and make you bleed
Long nails are gross, I'm sorry but it's true.


Tons of stuff could get stuck under there, and they will start to turn yellow the longer you grow them.





My little brother has the same problem, he hates the feeling of the nail clippers and his nails are yellow and long.





Cut them short and paint them bright colors for summer, it would look really nice!
Long nails are alright to an extent. If they are too long, they may chip or break. I agree to the first answer, you need to consider hygiene issues too. If your nails start interfering with doing simple things, then it's way too long.





Try cutting your nails a little shorter and painting them with a bright colour.

Well, if it's painted over, I don't mind it so much.


But I remember when my friend use to keep hers long, and I thought it was disgusting.
having long nails is great if u keep them tammed, dont keep them too long or they will look like cat claws, if u like them,keep them

It's bad in the sense that it's not hygienic. A lot of dirt and bacteria can get trapped and stuck under your nails. Short is best.

it gets unsanitary after a while with all the dirt staying under your nails
I keep my nails a bit long because i hate them short. Just make sure you file them every few days and soak them in some hot water to keep them clean.

Long is pretty, but to an extent. Anything that makes it uncomfortable for you is TOO long. And they can break easily.
No, It's not bad at all. If they don't get in your way there's no reason why you shouldn't have long natural nails.
