Or,what I do is,I paint my nails and then I just like eat off the nailpolish(dont swallow obviously) and I chew on that not on the nail. Or, you could buy a really cool ring and promise yourself your not gonna wear it until you stop biting your nails. When i was little i had a habit of sucking my thumb so my mom got this nail polish type stuff that she put on my fingernails, and if i ever sucked on them it tasted horrible. I reccomend this. That's not how any tech should do them, IMHO.

Yes, it probably is. I personally had those symptoms and it turned out to be celiac disease. Definitely look at that as a possible cause. It damages your intestines and causes massive vitamin deficiencies. Eye and ear problems and grooves in your fingernails (I had them terribly) can be symptoms of vitamin deficiencies. Do you have other health problems?

They're fun, great for spring, and are really inexpensive. I got neon pink, purple, and green at Claires (I know its a sucky store but it was the only place I could find them) and I'm actually wearing neon pink on my fingers right now.
For my toenails- Usually a nice pink or corally-peach. I like something bright and fun. Although, I sometimes (usually in the winter though) paint them this metallic deep purple. It sounds like it would be ';cheap'; but it's really elegant actually. Kinda like these colours:

Honestly depends where you are. I charge 拢16 for a mini manicure and 拢25 for a luxuary one which includes massage, mask and exfoliation. If you talking about extensions then your looking at around 拢25 at the cheapest and anywhere up to 拢45 for the more expenisive types. You could call a few salons around your area and ask them how much it is and always compare to a mobile therapist as they sometimes can be cheaper.

I'm a completely straight woman, but when I look at a woman's feet and if they are nasty and untaken care of, it completely skeeves me. Imagine how men feel when they see that. A woman who takes the time to take care of her feet is someone who takes care of herself. The others show they just don't give a damn and makes you think they probably feel that way about other parts of themselves and just gives you a nasty mental image of the person.

That is a huge problem. Don't worry i went through the same thing. What you do is you put something really nasty tasteing on your nails. Something you would NEVER EVER LIKE TO TASTE. Like maybe pickle juice or hot sauce. Then you let it dry on your nails. Whenever you go to bite you will taste that gross taste and stop biting. Soon you won't need the hot sauce or pickle juice. You could try putting a dark colored nail polish on them. That way when you bite them you get pieces of nail polish in your mouth and maybe seeing your nail polish all chipped will help motivate you to not bite them.

I don't remember the name of the stuff, but there is a nail polish that you can use that taste awful. It stopped me. My brother painted mine when we were kids and i still have not forgiven him. trust me its that bad. so you never want to bite your nails again. I would bite them till they bleed.
first of all, think of a REALLY good reason that matters alot to you why you want to change this habit. then , think of a punishment for yourself, like the next time i find myself biting my nail i will ask out the guy i had a crush on in 6th grade. see what i mean? then ,when you DO catch yourself, FOLLOW UP with your punishment! believe me, it sounds cheesy but it works!

That is a huge problem. Don't worry i went through the same thing. What you do is you put something really nasty tasteing on your nails. Something you would NEVER EVER LIKE TO TASTE. Like maybe pickle juice or hot sauce. Then you let it dry on your nails. Whenever you go to bite you will taste that gross taste and stop biting. Soon you won't need the hot sauce or pickle juice. You could try putting a dark colored nail polish on them. That way when you bite them you get pieces of nail polish in your mouth and maybe seeing your nail polish all chipped will help motivate you to not bite them.

I don't remember the name of the stuff, but there is a nail polish that you can use that taste awful. It stopped me. My brother painted mine when we were kids and i still have not forgiven him. trust me its that bad. so you never want to bite your nails again. I would bite them till they bleed.
first of all, think of a REALLY good reason that matters alot to you why you want to change this habit. then , think of a punishment for yourself, like the next time i find myself biting my nail i will ask out the guy i had a crush on in 6th grade. see what i mean? then ,when you DO catch yourself, FOLLOW UP with your punishment! believe me, it sounds cheesy but it works!

I used to have the same problem, I used to bite my nails. I stopped doing it, with a lot of strong will. Everytime I put my fingers in my mouth I would immediately put them down. I know there are polish nails to encourage you to stop, but we are surrounded by so many chemicals (in the air, water, food, clothes, etc), I definitely wouldn't put another chemical on my body, when I could use my inner strength and my strong will to stop a habit.
Make a bet with someone, pay 拢1 for each time you put your fingers in your mouth. Like this you will be encouraged to stop that dreadful habit.
About the growth part, I use a cream (Neutrogena) for my hands, and when I'm watching TV, I massage my nails. Specially on the base, where they meet the flesh, this will activate blood circulation in this area and will help them get stronger and grow quicker.

I dont think people realise how difficult it is - like all addictions it is hard to stop. My proble ( I realise now!) was stress living with authoritative and aggressive father.

Honestly depends where you are. I charge 拢16 for a mini manicure and 拢25 for a luxuary one which includes massage, mask and exfoliation. If you talking about extensions then your looking at around 拢25 at the cheapest and anywhere up to 拢45 for the more expenisive types. You could call a few salons around your area and ask them how much it is and always compare to a mobile therapist as they sometimes can be cheaper.

just a polish chang is only $5. Fills with acrylic are $12. Gel fills are a little more. A new full set are $25 for acrylic and $35 for Gel. Manicure pedicures are 35 combined.

How can I get acyrlic nails that are salon quaility at home? nail tech advice?

I want to do acrylic nails at home, but I want them the EXACT way they do them at the salon. I have had them done once and loved them! Could anyone (or a nail tech) tell me the exact procedure they use at the salon (step by step) and what type of products are used? I have experience with acrylic nails, but want them to a higher standard:)

I've done my own at home for years to save money. I get the powder, primer, brush, files, sanding blocks and liquid at beauty supply. The primer is a mild acid that permits good adhesion, but does burn a cut. Flush with water and wash with soap to stop burning sensation if this happens.You need a brush to wet with liq. then pick up some powder and place on primed nail and lightly brush to shape. Takes practice. Also need emery board that's coarse for first smoothing then finer to get nail smoother, Then I use sanding blocks to get real smooth and polish.
Go to a salon and watch They have a bad habit of not putting primer on whole nail when they do a fill and that causes fungus growth. That's another reason I do it myself. Also, I got fed up with them not shaping the end the way I want and seemed to laugh, speaking to each other in their language, when I tried to show them with a drawing. I've had the green fungus and the yellow one from them. A friend had all, all her nails fall off leaving a very thin natural nail layer left because of this fungus.How can I get acyrlic nails that are salon quaility at home? nail tech advice?
